Our Process
First Meeting & Design Phase
When ordering form KA-BON, please contact us by phone or email to arrange a meeting. It is important to discuss our clients’ ideas and vision in relation to some design considerations including fabrics, accessories and branding. Order quantities, pricing and delivery timing should be discussed in principle, together with other specific requirements that the client may have. With the aid of 3-D Drawings the ‘product concept’ is agreed, with fabric options, finish, accessories and design – we need the clients’ brand graphics in a vector format at this phase. The timing for this phase is usually client dependent and could take between 2 – 6 weeks.
3D Drawings & Tech Pack Design
KA-BON offers the client a 3D Drawings for each product in order to speed up the sampling production process. When the client makes a final sample choice then KA-BON requires a detailed Tech Pack for each item in order to start the production process. We offer a Tech Pack Service for clients that need assistance at this phase. Tech Pack are a way of communicating design details to the factory floor in a standardised format to ensure the work is carried out to the exact detail. The Tech Pack detail will also provide the basis for the sample and final cost estimates.
Sample Production
A sample is created to evaluate and refine the design before final production. A cost calculation is communicated to the client at this phase. The sample is also used for design approval, fit testing & quality control. Any modifications and design alterations are made at this stage and a Production Sample or Final Sample will be produced for Client. This phase should take approximately 3-4 weeks. Note: If special fabrics, colours and accessories are required this may take a little longer and a small advance payment may be required to cover the cost of special fabric production and dying (minimum @ 20kgs).
Sample Review And Modifications
Once the sample is reviewed and approved, the client will sign off on the sample and a final price will agreed - usually based on the final sample and number of pieces required. At this stage the client will be invoiced for 50% of the total value.
Final Production
Once payment is received the production phase begins with material-ready line setup, bulk production, quality control, finishing and packaging. The bulk production phase will take between 4 – 8 weeks depending of the type of clothing and size of order. Throughout this period we will ensure attention to detail and quality.
Quality Control
Our QC manager will be on site during the production process and ensure that all Tech Pack details and specifications are followed accurately. KA-BON quality control at the shop floor level will ensure that every aspect of the process, from materials to craftsmanship, meets the agreed-upon standards.
Logistics & Delivery
The logistics phase of the process where any sorting, labeling and consolidation takes place before shipment to the client. All necessary documentation will be enclosed with the shipment, including product conformity and sustainability certifications.
